Today we have a classic, romantic and elegant Houston wedding to help you through your day.  This wedding just oozes class and romance-from the majestic cathedral to the elegant ballroom-it epitomizes a southern, classic affair.  I am completely in love, IN LOVE, with the bride's dress!  It's definitely on my top 10 list of favorite all-time dresses!  The off-the-shoulder cap sleeves and the lace is just perfect for a winter wedding.  The ballroom decor is also a favorite of mine.  The neutral color palette highlights the warm, wood tones of the venue space.  And finally the photographs by Chris Bailey capture all of the amazing beauty!  Check out even more images on his blog

From the Bride...I was mostly inspired by a wedding inspiration board on the website Style Me Pretty titled "French Elegance".  It was both classic and romantic, and I thought it really exemplified the theme for our wedding. The vision for our wedding was for it to be romantic and elegant in a classic setting.  We chose St. Martin's Episcopal Church for the ceremony because of Judd's ties there and the beauty of the church.  We chose the Rice Crystal Ballroom because we loved the wide, open, and very classic feel of the reception room.   It was originally built in the 1920's and renovated in the 1990's to be what it is today.

A DIY project we did was that we chose to do a head table at the reception with a table covering made from some sheer lace fabric we purchased at a local fabric store and had made in to custom table cloths for the head table, cake, and dessert tables.  It created a soft detail that added a nice touch of elegance and texture to the room.

Instead of a groom's cake, we also opted to do a dessert table of cupcakes, chocolate truffles, and chocolate covered strawberries.  Da Capo's Bakery in the Houston Heights provided the desserts.  We chose them because they are a local bakery and we wanted to support a local business.  The desserts must have been a huge hit because they were gone in minutes after dinner was opened!  We didn't plan on them being so popular, but we're glad everyone enjoyed them!

We chose a classic 1930's White Rolls Royce as our exit car for the wedding.  It was the perfect way to end the night and carry our classic elegance through to the end.  Some of my favorite photos from the reception are of us leaving in our get-away car.  It was a wonderful evening with a lot of fun memories and personal touches that we feel made our night one of a kind!
