Good morning, wedding lovers!  We have a great Houston styled shoot from Christa Elyce Photography to start off your day.  Event planners Natalie Dawley and Lauren Simkins of Two Be Wed were the brainchild behind this shoot and pulled together an amazing cast of vendors to pull it off.  I won't say too much more-there's a great description at the bottom of the post-I'll just let you jump right in!

From Christa Elyce..."Fool for Love" - Our shoot started with the most pure of all inspirations- a dream! Natalie Dawley, owner of Houston-based wedding consulting firm Two Be Wed, awoke one night from spinning ideas of playing practical jokes on her vendors at a wedding. With April Fool's Day approaching, we thought what a fun shoot it would be style a beautiful springtime reception, with a twist.

The theme has two facets: Classic southern style including a garden setting at Gardens of Bammel Lane, calligraphed paper goods by Everly Calligraphy, lemon meringue macarons, pistachio macarons + mini key lime pies by Macaron by Patisse. Then we have our April Fool's Day couple, the fools for love! They are head over heels for each other and not afraid to be silly about it. We created adorable and fun DIY crowns, fool's gold place card holders, and funfetti favors. The bride and groom (really married) enjoyed playing pranks and even had a pillow fight! Her dress and accessories from BHLDN capture the stylish yet playful spirit, as does the groom's suit and tie (his own).

The sweet Spring color palette and floral design by Tamara Menges are inspired by the watercolor-esque fabric featured in the table runner + napkins. We took this a step further by mimicking its watercolor technique in the guest book concept and embellishing the paper goods ourselves! Everyone got into it, especially photographer Christa Elyce. I think we all have a new hobby!
