This charming Jefferson wedding is filled to the brim with family tradition! The bride, an eight generation East Texan, wanted to incorporate her family's history and tradition in the area into her wedding. Thus, she made sure to incorporate family heirlooms throughout the entire wedding celebration. From the bride's wedding dress (she wore her grandmother's gown) to the stationery (her sister-in-law designed them), almost every element touched on her family's tradition in the state. The team over at Pen & Whistle Design Co. made every element come together beautifully. And Kelbert McFarland took the most breathtaking images of the elegant affair. From the bride...My mother’s whole family is from East Texas, the Old Southern part of the state, and seven generations before us were married in the region since the original branch of the family arrived during the Antebellum period in Jefferson, TX, by steamboat from New Orleans. Family tradition and heritage inspired everything about my wedding, from the dress to the decor. Even the invitations, hand drawn & letterpressed by my sister-in-law in England, MishMish Paper Co., incorporated the family history through a map of East Texas highlighting places in our family's long history in the state.
