This ballroom Houston wedding is elegant and timeless...just like the bride wanted it to be. Photographer Jessi Marri did a fabulous job of highlighting all of the special moments for this couple on their big day. I love closeup shots of the shoes, rings, the back of dresses, and accessories - all of which can be lost in more formal group shots. So much thought goes into the details of your wedding, make sure your photographer takes the time to document the special touches, such as the bride and groom chair decorations at the reception in this wedding. I also love the photo from this collection that shows how the details of the wedding cake icing perfectly complement the patterns on the bride's dress. From the bride...You know how everyone says that your wedding day will fly by? All of that preparation, the butterflies, the excitement...by the time you realize it, one of the most important days of your life is over. Well, I thought that was a huge load of crap! So, I was determined to be present for every last second of it.

Surreal is the only way to put it. Regardless of how surrounded you are by wedding details for the months leading up to it, the day of feels like an out of body experience. Everyone I love and care for was under one roof all scrambling to help me get some last minute details in line. Naturally, I couldn't sleep the night before, so I woke up at 7:00 am and took a hot bath watching the clock like it was Friday at 4:30 pm at the office.

The whirlwind began as soon as everyonea back room where Pablo and I practiced our "big moves" for our first dance. We hadn't practiced in my wedding day heels yet - it was going to be fine though... Right? I sang every word of Frankie Vallie's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", we danced and whispered, "We did it!" excitedly when we nailed our last move. Public speaking never comes so naturally as when you know everyone in the room is ecstatic for you. Toasts, food, drinks, and nonstop dancing. It was everything we could have wanted and moryone had their makeup and hair done. "Dress, check. Okay, zip me up...Hurry, the photographer is going to be here soon!...Hey Jessi!" Snap, click, snap. And we were off! Or not... "Where's the limo?" "Dammit Pablo, we should have gotten two!", I thought to myself. Just in time, the limo whisked us away to the church! I met my dad in the back corner of the left of the church. Handsome, tall, and dashing! The first man I loved leading me to the man who I would start my own family with - I couldn't stopre. It was perfectly ours.

smiling.

Walking down the aisle as slow as possible without dragging it out, taking in all of the faces, looking at my new family on Pablo's side - ecstatic for what was to come. With God as our witness, we vowed for better or worse. This was truly the most important moment of the night. We still had some fun to have though!

Pablo and I knew what we wanted. Simple, elegant, and timeless. We just had to translate that vision to things like hydrangeas, bow ties, and cake icing. At first it felt like the longest, most impossible checklist to get through. With us both working full time and wrapping our heads around "adulting," it didn't seem possible. As we neared the end though, everything fell into place (as they always tend to) and on the night of January 11, we promised each other forever.

Walking swiftly through the ballroom while our guests filled up on drinks and hors d'oeuvres, we peeked in while gliding through the ballroom quickly to a back room where Pablo and I practiced our "big moves" for our first dance.
