From Civic Photos…I’ll take great chemistry over great scenery on any session of the week. The beauty of field shots is that it really emphasizes the chemistry between Daniel & Ashley. We started off shooting in a vast open field in La Marque Texas. Then we routed to a nearby forest in the area. Following that we headed to the Clear Lake, TX area where we captured some beautiful frames by an amazing train.

From Kimberly Chau Photography…Stephanie + RG are both fellow Longhorns from the University of Texas at Austin. When they told me that their wedding would be at The Parador, I almost leaped out of my chair with joy! It’s one of my favorite venues to photograph in around Houston and the lighting couldn’t have been any better that day. Stephanie picked the most gorgeous purple and pinks florals to decorate her wedding with. And with Mysti, from Behind the Bash, helping coordinate throughout the wedding day, there wasn’t a hiccup or mess up at all! My favorite images from the first part of Stephanie + RG’s day: The First Look. It was the sweetest moment to capture and I seriously teared up! I know, I’m such a girl! But it meant that much to me to see the two of them so happy and excited for the big day! I love it when my couples decide to do the First Look because it’s a brief moment for you to share smiles, hugs, laughter, and love. It’s so special and makes for a great opportunity for fantastic photos!

From Studio563…The entire event was designed and planned from Houston by Mandy Millen with Every Little Detail Weddings & Events. Megan and Elliot are a young, fun & energetic couple who met their first day of college at Texas A & M University. They have amazing families and friends who they wanted to treat to a relaxing, 4 day long party on the beautiful beaches Puerto Moreles, Mexico. WIth some of the whitest sand and bluest water in Mexico, the amazing Now Jade Riviera resort was the perfect venue for their May destination wedding. 

Right away the carefree tone was set with custom passport save the dates from Invitation Solutions who created a monogram that was used through out the wedding. The custom invitations, from Invitation Solutions, were enclosed in paper made from banana leaves to incorporate the tropical feel and accented with the colors of the ocean and sunset. Upon arriving, guests were given beach bags filled with custom beach towels by Lauren Lake Gifts, itineraries by Invitation Solutions and custom koozies by Kustom Koozies.

On the wedding day, the 5 bridesmaids and bride had hair and makeup done while the groom and groomsmen played beach volleyball. The ceremony was set beach front with an organza draped alter with arrangements of orchids and willow branches. Accents of turquoise were used on the chairs and alter. The groom wore a custom linen suit and groomsmen wore linen as well. Bridesmaids wore oasis colored dresses by Dessy and carried white bouquets of orchids and Megan in Watters and Watters carried purple dendrobium orchids.

Following the wedding guests were treated to hand rolled cigars complete with monogram labels and specialty cocktails as they listened to the music of a caribbean band. For the reception, the private beachside candlelit room had table decor of lanterns, coral, starfish, bamboo with orchid accents on crisp white linens to give a clean beach feel. Menu cards and custom monogrammed cookies were at each place setting. After dinner, cake and customary tequila shots; guests danced the night away on an LED lit dance floor to playlists made by the couple.

From Love Caryn Photography…“On the Road Again” seems to be this couple’s life theme! Kyle is getting his PhD, and is living the grad student life of moving every couple years. So far, he has lived in Illinois, Colorado, and now the tiny town of College Station, Texas. He picked Marianne up in Colorado, and now he says that even though he doesn’t know where they’ll end up next, he feels at home wherever he is! Besides moving a lot, they love traveling, so we decided to base their engagement session on this amazing abandoned train in Bryan, Texas, using an old trunk I salvaged from my grandmother’s shed, and of course, a globe they were spinning to try to pick where they might go next.

From A Style Collective…We had the pleasure of staging this photo shoot with some of our vintage props, vintage crochet wedding gown, and floral arrangement to show case this stunning bride, Haley. Lacy Dagerath of More Than An Image Photography was the rockstar photographer on the set and captured these seriously beautiful and whimsical photos. We love Haley’s personal, non-traditional style and this whimsical sofa paired with the wild vines growing and that pop of red lipstick. We added the green sash to the gown for extra color. We kept the florals eclectic and wild natured.The hair and make up by Your Make-up Expert was very vintage meets a Southern voluminous look and it was perfect. Absolutely stunning all around.

From the Bride…We wanted to have a wedding that was truly about us, what we love most, and who we are as individuals. We also wanted our wedding to be kind to the environment. Chris brewed all the beer for the wedding, my mom sewed her wedding gown out of hemp silk, and Whole Foods catered with local, sustainable food options. Our two dogs are part of the family, so of course we had to have them there with us to celebrate! The flowers were designed to convey a laid-back, Austin-style bohemian vibe, and we brought our two classic cars on site to enhance the theme.

From the Bride…I would say for our wedding, we wanted it to be something different. I didn’t want a wedding planner because I enjoy the planning process. We wanted it to have a modern spin on a vintage theme, so knowing this, we created the color scheme–a traditional black and white with the main palette being charcoal and yellow. We paired the idea of a garden tea party with those color modernities.

We chose the Dallas Arboretum as the setting because of their array of yellow florals for summer and the beautiful vines climbing the walls. Our ceremony had a chandelier hanging from the middle of the pergola surrounded by a beautiful Dallas sunset. Our bouquets also represented a garden wildflower field theme of all yellows and whites, with mine displaying a colorful lace piece made by my great-grandmother. Inside the Arboretum’s Rose Hall, centerpieces were a mix of antique crystal cake plates and old birdcages ranging in sizes. The floral arrangements paired with these were an array of yellow, cream, and soft green which bounced perfectly off of charcoal linens and chair covers. Each floral arrangement was highlighted and our initials graced the dance floor in script. We had an amazing yellow cake trimmed in a buttercream lace pattern that mimicked the lace layers in my dress. We created a yellow, grey, black and white candy bar full of different sized vases and old fashioned jars; finished with antique candy scoops and candy bags.

Overall, it was a candlelit English garden affair with a spin of romance and whimsy! I think our photographer captured it all just perfectly- many having a vintage look and feel while being surrounded by beautiful flowers!
